Born from the rebellious spirit of winemaker Paolo Bianchini, Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona’s Ateo is a bold departure from traditional Brunello. The name Ateo, meaning "atheist", symbolises its origin—crafted in a year not deemed ideal for Brunello, but ideal for something entirely new. Sourced from vineyards in the sun-kissed hills near Castelnuovo dell’Abate in Montalcino, this powerful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is a testament to terroir and tenacity.

With fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel and glass-lined concrete vats, followed by aging in small 3hl oak barrels, Ateo expresses a vibrant Tuscan soul: rich, ripe, and structured, with a depth that lingers. The bouquet delivers vivid herbal and spice notes, layered over a core of dark fruit, while the palate is full-bodied, supple, and complex with firm yet polished tannins.

Food Pairing:

Perfect with robust dishes such as wild boar ragu, roasted lamb shoulder, or grilled Florentine steak. Also ideal with aged Pecorino or hearty bean stews.
