Ardbeg 8 Year is a single malt whisky from the Islay region of Scotland. This whisky is a limited edition release and has been aged for 8 years in ex-bourbon and ex-rye casks. It has a complex and peaty aroma with hints of vanilla and citrus. On the palate, it is smoky and spicy with notes of caramel and black pepper. The finish is long and warming, with a sweet and smoky aftertaste.

    Ardbeg 8 Discussion

    Hi

    My son has just bought a bottle of Ardbeg 8 Discussion for £145.50 for a special birthday from you. I buy this from Master of Malt for £79.99 as currently advertised. Today I’ve checked your website, your price now is £195. How can this be?

    Surely ‘this isn’t right.

    I have suggested my son comes back to you for a full refund.

    Thank you for getting in touch.


    I completely understand your concern regarding the price your son paid for the Ardbeg 8 Year Old and the price you have subsequently seen advertised elsewhere.


    As an independent specialist retailer, our purchase prices can vary considerably depending on when and where we source a particular whisky. Some bottles are supplied directly, while others have to be sourced through wholesalers or the secondary distribution market, particularly when availability becomes limited. Unfortunately, this means our cost price—and therefore our retail price—may sometimes be significantly different from that of larger online retailers.


    That said, we appreciate that your son purchased the bottle for a special birthday and that the difference in price has understandably caused concern. We certainly don't want you or your son to feel unhappy with the purchase.


    We would therefore be happy to offer your son either a full refund upon return of the bottle, provided it remains unopened and in the condition in which it was purchased, or alternatively we can offer the amount as store credit if he would prefer to choose another bottle from our range.


    Please ask your son to bring the bottle and proof of purchase back to Cask23, and we will be happy to resolve this for him.


    We value our customers and would much rather have the opportunity to put things right than leave you disappointed with the experience.
