Ballindalloch Aberdeen Angus 150th Anniversary is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky released to commemorate 150 years of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society's Herd Book. Produced at Ballindalloch Distillery, one of the world's few remaining single-estate whisky producers, this special bottling brings together the distillery's whisky-making heritage and its longstanding connection with Aberdeen Angus cattle breeding.
 
The Ballindalloch Estate is home to the world's oldest pedigree herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle, which has been recorded in the Society's Herd Book every year since its establishment. The cattle also play an important role in the estate's sustainable approach to whisky production, reflecting the close relationship between its agricultural activities and distilling operations. This anniversary release celebrates that connection and the estate's contribution to the history of the Aberdeen Angus breed.
 
The whisky has been created from an equal combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon matured single malt, bringing together two complementary cask influences. The bourbon casks contribute to the whisky's vanilla and fruit-led character, while the sherry-matured component adds richness and depth. Bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration or added colouring, the expression retains its natural colour and the character developed through maturation.
 
With its combination of Speyside fruitiness, chocolate notes and gentle wood tannins, Ballindalloch Aberdeen Angus 150th Anniversary offers an interesting expression of the distillery's single malt. Tasting Notes
 
Nose: Fruit salad, ripe bananas and a hint of tangerine that develops with time in the glass.
Palate: Vanilla, milk chocolate and further fruit notes, reminiscent of chocolate-covered raisins.
Finish: Long and lingering, with pleasant wood tannins coating the mouth.
