Situated on the edge of Pomerol, Château Corbin 2019 is a refined expression of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé heritage. Owned by Anabelle Cruse, representing the fourth generation of her family, the estate combines tradition with modern precision, producing wines known for their purity, balance, and elegance.
The vineyard’s 13 hectares rest on clay and sandy-clay soils over ferric clay, an exceptional terroir that gives both structure and finesse. With an average vine age of around 30 years and high planting density, the estate focuses on meticulous vineyard work, including manual harvesting and strict fruit selection.
The 2019 vintage, widely celebrated across Bordeaux, was vinified with remarkable precision, fermentation in plot-specific cement vats, careful extraction, and a vatting period of up to 22 days. The wine then matured for 18 months in French oak (one-third new), with part of the blend refined in glass wineglobes, enhancing purity and texture.
Predominantly Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, the wine opens with subtle yet expressive aromas of black cherry, graphite, and fresh mint. The palate is dense yet beautifully balanced, offering fine-grained tannins, layered fruit, and remarkable length. There’s a quiet power here, elegant, composed, and deeply harmonious.
A Saint-Émilion of finesse and depth with impressive ageing potential, embodying both strength and precision.
