The Château Lestrille Rouge 2018 is a vibrant, contemporary take on Bordeaux Supérieur, crafted entirely from 100% Merlot by the talented Estelle Roumage. Based in St. Germain du Puch at the northern point of the Entre-deux-Mers region, Estelle focuses on sustainable viticulture and precision winemaking, allowing each plot to express its personality with clarity and purity.
The cool clay-and-silt soils of the estate offer natural water retention, helping the Merlot develop juicy, expressive fruit ideal for a fresh, unoaked style. The 2018 vintage delivered optimal ripeness, and the fruit was harvested at perfect maturity before undergoing gentle fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Aged for 12 months in stainless steel vats, the wine retains its natural brightness, purity, and varietal charm.
In the glass, it’s aromatic and inviting, with notes of ripe plum, soft cherry, and a touch of spice. The palate is smooth and supple, offering silky tannins, a round mid-palate, and a delicately spiced finish. A beautifully made, modern Bordeaux that showcases Merlot at its freshest.
