From one of the Northern Rhône’s most respected producers, Yves Cuilleron, the Côte-Rôtie Bonnivières 2017 is a wine that perfectly captures the depth and elegance of this iconic appellation. Based in Chavanay and working as a fourth-generation vigneron, Cuilleron is known for meticulous vineyard management and minimal-intervention winemaking, producing wines that express terroir with remarkable clarity.
The Bonnivières parcel sits on a steep east-facing hillside in Ampuis, where high-density plantings of old vines benefit from excellent exposure while retaining freshness. Sustainable practices, including organic fertilisation and careful yield control, ensure optimal ripeness and concentration.
Hand-harvested fruit is vinified by plot with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention. After a three-week maceration in open vats, the wine is matured for 18 months in oak barrels, developing complexity and structure while preserving purity.
In the glass, it reveals a complex bouquet of dark berries, spice, tobacco, and subtle roasted notes. The palate is rich yet precise, with a rounded texture, silky tannins, and a long, powerful finish. This is a Côte-Rôtie of depth and finesse, offering both immediate appeal and excellent ageing potential.
