An exceptional expression of mature Speyside whisky, the Glenrothes 30 Year Old 1995 is a rare single cask release selected for Signatory Vintage's prestigious Symington's Choice Cask Strength Collection. Matured for three decades in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, this remarkable whisky demonstrates the extraordinary depth and elegance that only time can create.
Distilled at The Glenrothes Distillery on 5th June 1995, this single malt spent 30 years developing in Cask No. 6979 before being bottled at natural cask strength on 2nd February 2026. Just 487 individually numbered bottles were drawn from the cask, making this an exceptionally limited release for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
Three decades in first-fill Oloroso oak have transformed the spirit into a beautifully layered whisky. Rich aromas of dried apricots, figs and raisins unfold alongside polished oak, antique leather and warming baking spices. Beneath the luxurious sherry influence lies a vibrant thread of orange peel and marmalade, adding freshness and elegance to the whisky's profound depth.
On the palate, expect a sumptuous, full-bodied texture where concentrated dried fruits, dark treacle, roasted nuts and refined oak intertwine with notes of cocoa, spice and citrus. The finish is remarkably long and sophisticated, leaving lingering impressions of dried fruit, polished wood, gentle spice and refined sherry sweetness.
This is a whisky that perfectly illustrates why long-aged single casks from Glenrothes continue to be among the most sought-after independent bottlings in the world.
