Henriques & Henriques 5 Year Old Finest Dry Madeira is a fresh and elegant fortified wine from the Portuguese island of Madeira, offering a crisp and approachable introduction to the island’s unique winemaking tradition.
Crafted predominantly from Tinta Negra Mole grapes with a small proportion of Sercial, this dry Madeira undergoes the traditional Estufagem process, a method where the wine is gently heated to around 45°C to accelerate maturation and stabilise the wine. This carefully controlled heating process lasts approximately 90 days, recreating the historical conditions experienced by Madeira wines during long sea voyages centuries ago.
Following the Estufa stage, the wine is aged in oak casks for five years, allowing it to develop complexity while retaining a bright and refreshing character.
In the glass it shows a light amber colour with subtle aromas of nuts, citrus, and delicate oak. The palate is crisp and lively, revealing flavours of toasted almonds, citrus peel, and gentle fruit notes, supported by refreshing acidity and a clean finish.
Light, vibrant, and versatile, this dry Madeira is ideal as an aperitif or paired with savoury dishes.
