Herdade do Rocim Mariana Red is a vibrant and expressive Portuguese red wine from the Alentejo region, crafted by the innovative team at Herdade do Rocim, one of Portugal’s most respected modern wine estates.
Located between Vidigueira and Cuba in Lower Alentejo, the estate spans around 120 hectares, with 70 hectares dedicated to vineyards. Since its founding in 2000, Herdade do Rocim has become known for its commitment to sustainable viticulture, minimal intervention winemaking, and the revival of traditional Talha (amphora) fermentation methods.
The vineyards benefit from a unique climatic influence created by the Vidigueira fault, which captures cooling Atlantic winds. These cool breezes, combined with warm sunny days, create significant day–night temperature differences that help maintain freshness and balance in the wines while allowing the fruit to develop rich flavour.
This carefully balanced blend of native Portuguese grape varieties produces a wine that is both vibrant and elegant. The result is a juicy and silky red with bright red berry aromas, delicate floral notes, and subtle hints of spice and chocolate.
