This is a single cask rum from Worthy Park Distillery in Jamaica, bottled by House of Rum at 63.4% ABV with no reduction. It was distilled in 2013 in a traditional Jamaican pot still and bottled in 2023. The cask yielded 265 bottles.
The maturation had two stages. The rum spent its first years ageing in ex-bourbon casks in tropical conditions, then moved to continental maturation in the UK. The source gives the total as nine years. Rums aged partly in tropical conditions and partly in a cooler climate often show a different balance of wood and fruit from rums aged in one place, though the source doesn’t say how this cask behaved.
The nose is intense and aromatic, with overripe tropical fruit, banana esters, oak spice and hints of funk. The palate is full-bodied and powerful: grilled pineapple, toasted coconut and caramelised sugar, with earthy undertones and a long, warming finish.
House of Rum was named Independent Bottler of the Year at the International Spirits Challenge 2026. That award recognises the bottler rather than this particular rum.
