A champagne like no other, Krug Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition is the pinnacle of patience, precision, and artistry. Crafted around the harvest of 2015, this prestigious cuvée harmonises 131 wines from 12 different vintages, the oldest dating back to 2000. Over two decades of craftsmanship culminate in this expressive, layered champagne—a symphony of character, finesse, and complexity.
Comprising 45% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, and 18% Meunier, the blend includes 42% reserve wines, enriching the champagne with depth and elegance. Its vibrant personality unfolds with aromas of blooming flowers, citrus peel, marzipan, and gingerbread, and continues on the palate with notes of almond paste, lemon, quince, and dried fruits, all framed by vivacious bubbles and a golden hue.
After spending seven years aging in Krug’s cellars, the result is not just a champagne, but a unique interpretation of time itself—each sip revealing a layer of its long journey.
Food Pairing:
Krug Grande Cuvée pairs magnificently with a variety of flavours—from aged parmesan, mature comté and Jabugo ham, to turbot with truffle, grilled prawns, Indian and Moroccan cuisine. It even transcends into desserts, working beautifully alongside carrot cake, tarte tatin, and baked cheesecake.
Serving Recommendation:
Serve at 9°C to 12°C in a Krug Joseph glass, developed in partnership with Riedel, to enhance its generous aromatics and layered complexity.
