Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 3 is the third release in Lochlea's highly anticipated annual Cask Strength series, offering whisky lovers the opportunity to experience the distillery's spirit exactly as it emerges from the cask.
 
Bottled at a formidable 59.8% ABV, without dilution and with natural colour, this limited-edition release captures the intensity and complexity usually reserved for warehouse tastings. Crafted from barley grown on Lochlea Distillery's own estate, it represents the purest expression of Lochlea's farm-to-bottle philosophy.
 
For Batch 3, Lochlea's Master Blender has combined Oloroso Sherry Butts with Ex-Islay Peated Casks, creating a remarkable marriage of rich fruit sweetness and savoury smoke. The result is a whisky that evolves continuously in the glass, revealing layers of ripe berries, dark sugar, toasted rye, BBQ smoke and warming spice.
 
The nose bursts with juicy red fruits and savoury smoky bacon, while the palate delivers cherries, ripe berries, dark molasses and charred wood smoke. The finish is exceptionally long and rewarding, with salty smoke, baking spices, oak tannins and delicate floral notes of red roses.
