Lochlea Dark Briar is the richest and most indulgent expression in Lochlea’s new core range, inspired by the distillery’s highly acclaimed Fallow Edition. Crafted from barley grown on the distillery’s own farm in Ayrshire, this single estate single malt showcases Lochlea’s dedication to provenance, flavour and innovation.
 
Matured in a luxurious combination of Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks, Oloroso Sherry Butts and Port Casks, Dark Briar delivers a wonderfully decadent whisky packed with layers of dark fruit, warming spice and velvety sweetness.
 
The nose opens with notes of Pic’n’Mix sweets, vanilla caramel and freshly baked spices, before revealing a rich palate of juicy cherries, sticky plums and ginger cake, balanced by elegant tannins from the sherry and port casks. The finish is long, warming and richly textured, with lingering baking spice and velvety fruit character.
