A biodynamic masterpiece from Chile’s cool-climate coastal vineyards, Matetic Syrah 2015 is a bold yet refined expression of terroir, organic viticulture, and meticulous winemaking. Crafted from handpicked grapes in the Rosario Valley—where granite-rich soils and coastal breezes shape this Syrah’s personality—this is a wine of rare depth, texture, and aging potential.
Inky violet in the glass, the bouquet is rich and layered with wild herbs, cracked black pepper, wet earth, charcuterie, dark chocolate, and violets. On the palate, it’s precise and polished, offering flavours of ripe black fruit, iodine, and smoked spices, wrapped in smooth tannins and finishing long with elegant complexity.
Only 400 cases were produced from two select vineyard blocks using biodynamic practices and minimal intervention. 50% whole-cluster fermentation and 22 months in French oak have given this Syrah a structure worthy of ageing—but it’s also stunning right now, especially with grilled meats and robust dishes.
A true collector’s choice for lovers of serious Syrah.
Food Pairing:
