Pellegrino Uncle Joseph Marsala Rubino Superiore Dolce is a rich and distinctive fortified wine from Sicily, Italy, crafted in the historic Marsala DOC appellation. Produced by the renowned Cantine Pellegrino, this expressive Marsala pays tribute to the English merchant Joseph, who helped bring Marsala wine to the world in the early 19th century.

Made from Nero d’Avola grapes grown near Mazara del Vallo, the vineyards benefit from the warm Mediterranean climate, clay-rich soils, and constant sea breezes that encourage excellent ripening and concentration of flavours.

Harvested at an advanced stage of ripeness, the grapes undergo cold maceration followed by partial fermentation, which is then halted by the addition of wine brandy aged for at least five years in oak barrels. The wine is subsequently matured for over 24 months in Allier oak barrels, developing remarkable depth and richness.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red colour. The nose is intensely fruity, offering aromas of black cherries, plums, and pomegranate. On the palate it is sweet and full-bodied, delivering flavours of ripe red berries, Marasca cherries, and pomegranate, supported by a smooth, elegant finish.

Rich and versatile, this Marsala pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts or traditional Sicilian flavours.
