A wine of depth, refinement and unmistakable pedigree, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2016 from Domaine Pierre Naigeon is a superb expression of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards.
The Naigeon family has been rooted in Gevrey-Chambertin for over 150 years, crafting wines that faithfully reflect their terroir. Pierre Naigeon’s philosophy centres on sustainable vineyard practices and minimal-intervention winemaking, allowing old vines, many over 50 years of age, to speak with clarity and intensity.
The 2016 vintage, marked by balance and concentration, delivers a Grand Cru of both structure and finesse. In the glass, it opens with an aromatic bouquet of violets, roses, and wild strawberries, layered with darker forest fruits and subtle oak spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied, yet precise, revealing silky tannins, mineral tension, and a beautifully integrated structure. Notes of wild dark berries, gentle spice, and fine oak unfold into a long, elegant finish.
A Charmes-Chambertin that combines fragrance, power, and grace built to evolve gracefully over time.
