Ridge Lytton Springs 2020 is a powerful and elegant Zinfandel-based blend from the renowned Ridge Vineyards in California’s Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County. Produced from the historic Lytton Springs vineyard, this wine reflects Ridge’s commitment to minimal intervention and the authentic expression of terroir.
 
The Lytton Springs vineyard has a long history dating back to the late 19th century, when vines were first planted on the eastern portion of the site. Ridge produced its first Lytton Springs wine in 1972, and today the vineyard remains one of California’s most respected old-vine sites for Zinfandel and its traditional field blend companions.
 
The 2020 blend is composed primarily of Zinfandel, complemented by Petite Sirah and Carignane, which add depth, colour and structure. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented using native yeasts, allowing the natural character of the vineyard to shine.
 
Following fermentation, the wine is aged for thirteen months in air-dried American oak barrels, adding subtle spice and complexity while maintaining the purity of fruit that defines Ridge wines.
 
The result is a bold yet balanced Sonoma red with layered dark fruit, firm structure and excellent ageing potential.
