Royal Tokaji Sweet Szamorodni 2019 is a beautifully balanced sweet wine that showcases the historic winemaking traditions of Hungary’s celebrated Tokaj region, one of the world’s most revered sweet wine areas.

“Szamorodni” translates as “as it comes”, referring to the traditional Tokaji method where bunches containing both ripe grapes and naturally botrytised berries are harvested together. This process creates a wine that combines richness and sweetness with the vibrant acidity for which Tokaj is famous.

The 2019 vintage benefited from a warm summer and excellent autumn conditions, which encouraged the formation of Botrytis (noble rot) and produced grapes of exceptional quality. Furmint, Hárslevelű and Yellow Muscat grapes were harvested in early November and fermented before being aged for nearly two years in oak barrels, allowing the wine to gain depth and complexity.

In the glass, the wine displays a beautiful golden colour, with aromatic layers of plums, apricots and gentle spice. The palate is rich and seductive, revealing notes of honey, vanilla and dried fruits, supported by lively acidity that keeps the wine fresh and balanced. The finish is long, clean and elegantly structured.

This traditional Tokaji sweet wine is both luxurious and versatile, making it a superb partner for both savoury dishes and desserts.
