Sazerac de Forge & Fils “Finest Original” Cognac invites you to rediscover the golden era of French brandy — before industrialisation and before Phylloxera transformed the vineyards of Cognac forever. Named in honour of Bernard Sazerac de Forge, who began exporting fine cognac across the globe in 1782, this exceptional spirit is a tribute to a lost era, lovingly revived by the modern Sazerac Company.
Crafted from a blend of rare, native grape varieties — many of which vanished from common use after the 19th century — this cognac showcases the heritage and artistry of traditional production methods. Each drop contains eaux-de-vie aged between 7 and 50 years, contributing to its remarkable complexity, richness, and balance.
On the nose, delicate notes of yellow stone fruits, dried flowers, citrus peel, and warm spice. The palate is luxurious — creamy, silky textures laced with dried fruits, pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish is long and elegant, gently unfolding with soft oak, vanilla, and black peppercorn. Elegant yet characterful, this is a truly timeless cognac — a rare collector’s bottle for the true connoisseur.
Pairs beautifully with cheeses, sautéed mushrooms, or seafood. Also exquisite as a digestif, especially with fine dark chocolate.
