Springbank Fino 10 is the fourth release in a five-part sherry series from Springbank, and this is the 2025 edition. It is 10 years old and bottled at 55% ABV.
 
The maturation is in two stages: four years in bourbon casks, followed by six years in fino sherry casks. Fino is generally a drier, lighter style of sherry than Oloroso or Pedro Ximénez, so the character here may differ from the darker, sweeter sherry-matured whiskies you may know. The distillery doesn’t say how the fino casks shaped this whisky, but the notes lean towards citrus and sweet confectionery rather than the heavy dried fruit of a richer sherry style.
 
The nose opens with blood orange, brandy snaps, vanilla custard and tinned fruits. On the palate, cinnamon sugar, fresh mint, praline, morello cherries and lemon curd emerge. The finish rounds off with key lime, cola bottles and maple syrup.
