Albion is a bold, proudly English single malt from West Midlands Distillery, created as a tribute to both the growing English whisky scene and the industrial spirit of the Black Country.
Named after the earliest recorded name for England and the British Isles, Albion is a whisky rooted in place, provenance and ambition. This third whisky release from West Midlands Distillery is made entirely with English ingredients — English barley, English ale yeast, English water and maturation in three Virgin Staffordshire Oak casks — all crafted, matured and bottled in the heart of England.
Bottled at a robust 53.1% ABV, this limited-edition release is rich, full-bodied and unapologetically flavourful. The use of virgin English oak brings a bold layer of spice, sweetness and structure, while long fermentations and traditional copper pot distillation help build the distillery’s fruit-forward, textured house style.
On the nose, Albion opens with vanilla custard, caramel, dried fruits and baking spice, followed by orchard fruit and toasted oak. The palate is silky yet powerful, revealing toffee, honey, dark fruits and warming spice, with subtle smoky undertones and a beautifully rounded mouthfeel. The finish is long and warming, with soft oak, candied fruit and lingering sweetness.
With the first two editions selling out rapidly, Albion has quickly become one of the most exciting new English whisky releases for collectors and curious drinkers alike.
